The Small One

OK, this is the first time I cry with an animated movie, and the worst thing being, it's not the first time I watch it. I'm talking about "The Small One", a short film made by Disney and released in 1978 with Don Bluth working on it (Dragon's Lair, Thumbelina, The Land Before Time, All Dogs go to Heaven, etc). I think it was because it brings back so many memories. I had it on VHS along other Christmas Disney shorts. But this one was my favourite among all of them. And I can see why. Man I cried like a baby watching it again, the English version is as lovely as the Spanish dubbed version. To understand why it is so good, just watch it:

So I was missing my boys, and remembered I started this old Glenn portraitI never managed to finish (from 2006, as the original file says). I always thought it had potential, but never managed to take it to the right direction. So I recovered it from one of my many DVD backups and this is the result. The poor guy never had a decent portrait (my first attempt is better to remaing forgotten). So compare what was created two years ago, and the final result! Exotique 4

Today I received my copy of Exotique 4 (For free 8D). I waited about 10 days to get this beauty. It feels so good receiving free books xD * is happy *. This pumps me to do something absolutely amazing for Expose 7! Now, enjoy the beautiful cover:

My first face-up!

I received Coltrane's head this Wednesday and I already tried his first face up! I went to Wallack's (art store) and bought what was left to buy. I also bought silicon earplugs (to stick on the eyes), fake eyelashes (that I didn't use anyway), etc. So I started at 9, more or less, what took me the most was cleaning the head, for some reason. Anyway, here's the outcome. Meet Coltrane, alias "griposo" xD (for those who do not speak spanish, "griposo" means something like "man with a cold").

He got no upper lashes because I didn't want to waste the ones I bought, since I'm not very happy with this face-up. Maybe the next time he'll have eyelashes 8D

Things arrived!

First off, I would like to tell that Chuchu got her doll Alicia! (A pink Amy from Iplehouse ) She is a ball jointed doll. We are like together in this new hobby of us, and she's enjoying it already! She started sewing like crazy, and despite she says her stuff looks bad I love what she does, I wish I had her skills!



And now that we are in the BJD line, guess what, the head I bought from a member of DOA arrived today! I screwed the payment at first but once solved the transaction went smoothly. He is a SSD '08 man event head that I missed from LUTS. I happened to come across to a photo of this gorgeous sculpt and I shouted "It's Coltrane!!" (for those who don't know, Coltrane is a character I created long time ago). What I could not achieve with drawings and paintings, a doll company did. He IS Coltrane, I found his face! OMG, he's so gorgeous! You can't tell right now, but once I do the face-up you'll see!



One week after I paid for him I lernt that head belongs to a super senior delf body!! (which means, the guy is 70cm tall). Now I need to save to buy his huge body ^^U OMG can't wait to do my first face-up!

Enough of doll babbling! Another thing that arrived today was another copy of the painter magazine (the arrive to my place every month). But this time I got a tuto featured! I must admit this had been the shittiest tutorial I've ever made, but oh well, hope someone learns something from it o.oU

Nina and her brother Bowie came this morning! They are so tiny and playful (They make Tessa look like a huge monster). They are so damn cute I could not avoid take quick shitty pictures of them (heavily photoshoped). I'll sure will spam this blog with more pictures, taken with more love! Bowie is the light cat and Nina is the dark one.

Dolly's Clothes!

This entry is dedicated to my sisters since I was giving a fuzz about the doll's clothes thing. They finally arrived! I know, I know, it's not the doll per se, but the clothing and accessories are so cute and they give me this illusion of having the actual thing with me. So I went to the post office and got my packages from.... Korea! (I'm sorry, I can't help myself every time I see something written in Hangul).



I opened the boxes! They're from Dollmore and Iplehouse (yes, they arrived at the same time, what a synchronization).



These are the contents from the Iplehouse box. I bought really nice jeans and a Tshirt to justify the shipping expenses. Compare them to the cat (yes, she had to show off again). This doll is gonna be bigger than I thought!! * loves big dollies *



Then I opened the Dollmore contents. Clothes, chains, beanie, glasses, eyes, wig, necklaces. Pretty much everything to pimp my doll! Oh, and they gave me an extra pair of glass eyes! Not too keen on the color, but hey, extra eyes nontheless!



Look closely at the contents. I bet Cole's gonna look handsome in that outfit. And how cute are the glasses? They even came with the case. And look at that eye, the glitter is just mesmerizing.

Oh man, if I'm this excited with clothes, how am I gonna be with the doll? * can't wait, for real * I'm still waiting for the shoes which I bought even before this stuff ;__; * is starting to get worried *

Autumn Colors

Fall came days ago and I always forgot to take pictures of the beautiful trees. Their warm colors still amaze me, and one day I didn't forget to bring the camera with me, so I took these pictures from the area where I live. It was at that time of the day, the light was just wonderful. I should take the camera with me more often. I didn't correct the colors on PS, I did resize them and sharpen them a little tho.
